SUMMER CAMP 2008 ***Choose your own disciplines – all options available.*** Warwickshire College – 8th, 9th and 10th August COST £160.00 PER RIDER There are still a handful of spaces left at Camp this year, so please give me a ring for full details and an itinerary. Camp is for everyone. There is no minimum standard required and no experience necessary. Groups will be very varied and you can choose exactly what riding you want to do. A deposit of £50.00 secures your place, with cheques made payable to BDRC please. (Cheques will not be banked until the end of July.) Please book early to avoid disappointment, especially if you want a particular group, as there are only 4 places in each. For any further information or a general chat about Camp please contact me. If you have already booked for Camp, by now you should have received a receipt confirming your place. If you haven’t had this from me, it may mean that I haven’t actually received your booking form—so please give me a ring to make sure. And don’t forget out pre-Camp get together on Wednesday 16th July.
MEMBERS ONLY EVENING DRESSAGE SERIES MALTHOUSE CENTRE, STEVENTON CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY AND KEEP TROPHIES TO BE WON Following several requests to repeat this series, please find below the new dates. As we have had several requests from people who cannot make Wednesdays and several that cannot make Thursdays, we have two Wednesday ones and two Thursday ones which will hopefully make things fair. As before, four individual dressage competitions will take place and within these we will be holding a Championship Trophy competition for the SAME HORSE & RIDER COMBINATION. The combination who has gained the most points throughout the series will win our Challenge Trophy and shields will be awarded to 6th place. Points are awarded as 10 points for 1st place through to 1 point for 10th place. Your points will accumulate throughout the series and the awards will be presented at our AGM. If the going seems a bit tough at the top, why not just try and improve your dressage throughout the series by taking note of the judge’s comments and working on them for the next test. You will also be gaining the normal Horse & Rider points for 1st – 6th in the normal way. Don’t worry if you miss any of the competitions, we noticed that not all of the winning line-up came to every competition in the last series, although obviously the more you attend, the better your chance of winning. Each competition is run individually with rosettes to 10th place. These evenings are informal and enjoyable so please come along and have a go. The events will take place in the evening and dates are as follows:
THE EVENINGS WILL PROBABLY START AT ABOUT 6.00PM BUT IF YOU COULD STATE THE EARLIEST TIMES YOU ARE ABLE TO DO ON YOUR ENTRY FORMS WE MAY START EARLIER. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO NOTE A PREFERRED TIME SLOT AS WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL REQUESTS, BUT THESE CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. Dress Code – Show attire – BDRC Sweatshirts can be worn to replace jacket. To enter, please send your entry, stating your name, address, horse’s name and a contact number and which competition you wish to enter. Blank entry forms can be downloaded from our website. The entry fee is £8.00 per competition, with cheques made payable to BDRC. A separate cheque for each competition would be preferable and entries should be sent to: Vicki Nowacka, 2 Granby End, Burghfield Common, Berks, RG7 3NW. Entries close on the Monday prior to the event and you should ring 0118 9833153 for times on the Tuesday evening between 7.30 & 9.30pm. THIS PROVED TO BE A POPULAR SERIES AND ENTERING EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT WOULD BE RECOMMENDED AS ENTRIES WILL BE LIMITED. WE WILL NEED A MINIMUM OF 14 ENTRIES AT EACH EVENT TO RUN.
