CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM Berkshire Downs Riding Club is a friendly affiliated Club with nearly 200 members, mainly based within a 20 mile radius of Wantage. We have members spread across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We run a varied and comprehensive programme of events throughout the year including Schooling Sessions, Camps, Lecture Demonstrations, Day Rallies, Video Evenings, Dressage, Show Jumping, Combined Training and Hunter Trials. We also hold an Annual Dinner and Annual General Meeting with Awards Presentations. Our membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st and membership is £24 for adults and £20 for juniors (12-17). See link at top and bottom of page to download a membership application form. All Club members are given reduced entry fees at our open events. Our aim is to encourage all levels and abilities of riders and horses and we produce a very informative bi-monthly newsletter which brings you details of all the Club activities, reports on past events and an events diary for the local area. We welcome input from our members and also include an Exchange & Mart section for members to advertise any items for sale etc BDRC started its life as Berkshire Downs Equestrian Club over 25 years ago by a Scottish Vet, Alex Mackenzie, who lived locally and had the idea of taking leisurely pub rides across the downs with like minded people out to enjoy the scenery and their horse. The Club is renowned for being friendly and sympathetic!! We really are not tomorrow's John Whittaker or Mary Thompson and do not claim to be. What we can offer is a good grounding for you and your horse - whether either of you is a novice or just a little rusty is fine by us. You can ride and compete to any level you want - and if that's a cross pole at 1'6" - that's ok! OUR MOTTO IS KEEP SMILING....... YOU'RE MEANT TO BE DOING THIS FOR FUN!
